Dear Chemical Engineers in the Asia Pacific region,

I hope you are doing well as we transition out of the pandemic and adjust to the new normal.

I would like to thank APCChE Past Presidents Professor Shuichi Yamamoto (2017–2020) and Professor Dominic Foo (2020-2022) for their leadership in organizing the 18th APCChE Congress 2019 in Sapporo, Japan and 19th APCChE Congress 2022 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Thank you for your continued guidance to APCChE.

As the Philippines, through the Philippine Institute of Chemical Engineers, prepares to host the 20th APCChE Congress 2023, I have full confidence that we will be able to unite all the chemical engineers of the Asia Pacific region to meet the global challenges and seek solutions that will improve the quality of life while recovering from the pandemic. The theme “Revitalizing Global Partnerships for Sustainable Development”, will focus on Sustainable Development Goal 17. We believe that SDGs can only be realized with strong global partnerships and cooperation. Build back better and achieve SDGs.

As one Asia Pacific community, let us achieve the goals for our organizations, promote excellence in everything we do, collaborate efforts to encourage participation and partnerships, champion global cooperation and work towards a sustainable society, enjoy life and together, let us make the chemical engineering profession significant every day.
